Course Content

In this Yin Yoga Teacher Training, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the essential techniques needed to effectively teach and practice Yin Yoga. The program will cover a wide range of foundational elements, including the principles of Yin Yoga, holistic understadning of human body energy network, the significance of stillness, and the importance of cultivating mindfulness throughout each session.

Yin Yoga Postures & Sequencing

In this training, you will gain a holistic understanding of key techniques for teaching and practicing Yin Yoga. The training covers a foundational exploration of poses, emphasising the energetic benefits and subtle adjustments that enhance the practice. You’ll learn examples of mindful sequencing to create a balanced and harmonious experience, as well as contraindications and safe modifications to adapt the practice to different body types and needs. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to guide students safely and confidently, fostering a nurturing, healing environment in each class.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Wisdom

You will be introduced to the foundational principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Five Element Theory, learning how these ancient concepts inform and enhance the practice of Yin Yoga. The Five Element Theory — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, represents natural cycles and energies within the body and the environment, each associated with specific organs, emotions, and seasons. We will also explore how to design thematic or energetic sequences that align with the seasonal shifts, supporting harmony and balance in both body and mind. By synchronising practice with the natural changes of each season, you will gain tools to guide others through sequences that align with the energies of nature, fostering deeper introspection, balance, and vitality.

Meditative Techniques

You will develop essential skills to guide the classes into a deeply meditative and mindful state. Through techniques that encourage awareness and presence, students will learn how to hold space for a calm, introspective practice that goes beyond the physical. You will cultivate an approach that allows practitioners to fully settle into each posture, inviting a state of relaxation and mental clarity, enter a state of inner stillness, and a profound sense of connection within the practice.

Holistic Integration

We will explore the foundational principles of Daoist theory and philosophy, gaining insight into the interconnectedness of nature, energy flow, and the cycles of life. Blending these teachings with key concepts from yogic philosophy, you will discover how these two ancient systems complement and enhance each other in guiding a balanced, harmonious practice. A significant focus will be on understanding the meridian system—the network of energy channels that carry Qi (life force) through the body—and its energetic properties. You will learn how each meridian corresponds to specific organs, emotions, and seasonal energies, and how Yin Yoga postures can be used to stimulate and balance these pathways. By integrating Daoist and yogic wisdom, students will leave with a well-rounded approach to teaching Yin Yoga as both a physical and energetic practice, promoting holistic wellbeing.
