Nestled in serene countryside with panoramic views and just a short walk from Gozo’s beautiful beaches and coves, this retreat is a sanctuary where you can fully unwind and reconnect with yourself. Breathe in the beauty of Gozo. This unique island, rich in ancient history and culture, offers an inspiring setting with its untouched nature, gentle pace of life, and breathtaking Mediterranean views. Full of charm and natural beauty, Samudra is the perfect place for the body and soul to rejuvenate, immersed in peace and healing energy. Each day will begin with a morning flow yoga session, followed by a freshly prepared brunch made with seasonal produce sourced locally. Your afternoons are free to relax by the pool, explore Gozo’s coastal walks, swim in crystal-clear turquoise waters, and soak in the island’s raw, restorative beauty. In the evenings, we’ll gather for yin or restorative yoga, gently unwinding the body and calming the mind before enjoying a delicious, home-cooked dinner. Our Samudra retreat chef will prepare wholesome meals using fresh, local Maltese ingredients, designed to nourish you from the inside out. A dedicated Traditional Chinese Medicine workshop will also be offered during your stay, along with other optional wellness experiences such as sound healing, meditation, or breathwork, to support your personal journey. Our retreats are relaxed and informal, with plenty of free time between sessions to explore Gozo’s natural beauty, visit charming villages, or simply rest on Samudra’s spacious terraces, basking in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun. This Gozo retreat is designed for those seeking rest and reconnection—whether you come with friends, a partner, or on your own, it’s an invitation to drop into a deeper sense of self and nourish your body, mind, and spirit.
What You Can Expect
Yoga
Sessions are inclusive for all levels, providing a supportive environment for those learning or revisiting yoga fundamentals, including postures, alignment, breathing, and techniques. The sessions incorporate a blend of Vinyasa flow, Hatha, and Yin/Restorative styles in the evenings. Daily practice fosters a sense of grounding, centring, and rejuvenation.
Pranayama (breathing exercise)
In the medical community, there is a growing appreciation for the positive impact that deep breathing can have on the physiology, both in the mind and the body. Both Pranayama and meditation helps reduce anxiety and depression, lower/stabilise blood pressure, decrease feelings of stress and overwhelm, improve immunity.
Locally Sourced Produce
We offer fresh, home-cooked vegetarian meals proudly using locally sourced produce from nearby farms. We can accommodate dietary preferences such as gluten-free and vegan; kindly inform us in advance.
Singling Bowl Meditation & Yoga Nidra
Deep breathing, Pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra offer significant benefits in the medical field by reducing anxiety and depression, stabilising blood pressure, alleviating stress, and enhancing immunity. Yoga Nidra, with its unique body scan and breath awareness stages, provides deep rest and relaxation beyond conventional meditation. When combined with singing bowl meditation, it promotes profound cellular-level relaxation for improved overall health.
Holistic Workshop
Included in the retreat is an optional one-hour workshop that uses hand-blended massage herbal oils and knowledge of acupuncture pressure points to release tension and stress and improve well-being.
Connecting To The Self And Nature
Ample scheduled free time allows you to immerse yourself in this beautiful Sicilian coastal town and revel in the beauty of the surroundings. You can take a short bike ride to the nearby towns or a 40-minute ferry to the nearby Egadi Islands, where you will find crystal-clear turquoise waters. Spending time outdoors in nature is known to relieve stress, boost the immune system, enhance sleep, promote relaxation, and spiritually cleanse your aura.
Embrace All Elements Of Life
Simple Earthly Comforts
Nestled at the edge of the island, just before the beach, where fertile farmland meets the shepherd's quiet village path, lie our three Samudra Farmhouses. These lovingly preserved homes, over 400 years old, remain true to their traditional roots, each stone and beam echoing the island’s rich history. Just beside them stands the Samudra Shala—our sacred sanctuary for sessions, stillness, and self-inquiry. Beneath the Shala lies a rare treasure: an underground cave dating back to the Palaeolithic era. This ancient, elemental space offers a profound sense of grounding and authenticity, making Samudra not just a retreat, but a return to something timeless.
IL POMO BIANCO
Il Pomo Bianco is our main Samudra Farmhouse, located just 150 metres from the Shala. This 400-year-old home has been lovingly preserved in an authentic, traditional farmhouse style, offering unique architecture and timeless charm. The farmhouse features four double bedrooms and one twin bedroom set across three floors. With stunning south-facing views of the sea and surrounding islands, a pool framed by farmers' fields, a dedicated dining room, and both indoor and outdoor lounge areas, it provides plenty of space for socialising and relaxation. Pomo Bianco was recently renovated in February 2025 with the intention of creating a welcoming space for community. The house includes a large kitchen where our chefs prepare a Mediterranean-inspired menu, served at communal dining tables where we gather each morning and evening to share meals. With ample space throughout, guests can unwind by the pool, on the rooftop terrace, or in the cosy living area. More than just retreat accommodation, Pomo Bianco is a family home—designed to nurture, soothe, and invite you to truly slow down.

TA KEMMUNA
Ta’ Kemmuna remains a beloved part of Samudra—an authentic 400-year-old farmhouse with rustic charm, built upon a water portal believed to connect energetically with Comino Island. Set across three floors, the house features a private pool with uninterrupted views of the Blue Lagoon, Comino, and Malta. At its heart lies a distinctive triangular communal area that brings together a cosy living room, kitchen, dining space, and a fireplace. Traditional Gozitan architecture is paired beautifully with a modern rustic touch, and the house’s east-facing position offers spectacular sunrise views over the horizon. There are two bedrooms: a twin room on the main floor beside the pool, and a queen room on the top level with a spacious private terrace. A third room on the lower ground floor is reserved for therapy sessions and connects directly to an underground healing cave—a unique and grounding space. Outside, the garden leads to tranquil nature trails with panoramic views of the countryside and sea. Our neighbour, a local shepherd, often passes by with her goats and sheep, and you can purchase fresh goat’s cheese and milk directly from her. Nestled among the cacti, you'll find a fire pit where we gather under the stars for fire ceremonies—one of the many soulful traditions held at Ta’ Kemmuna.

Shala Cottage Cave Room
Located directly above the cave shala, where the majority of the retreat’s sessions take place—this distinctive room offers a special connection to the heart of the practice space. While it is less private, as there is no door separating the bedroom from the shala below, the room is tucked away on the first floor, offering a cosy room. Upon entering, you’ll step into a lovely living area that leads to a full bathroom. Adjacent to the living room is a compact yet well-equipped kitchenette, perfect for preparing light meals or refreshments. One of the home’s most remarkable features is the cave itself, accessible via a staircase from the kitchen. This peaceful underground sanctuary is ideal for yoga, meditation, or simply relaxing in a cool, tranquil environment. From the living area, a second staircase leads up to the bedroom, which features a comfortable double bed and an en-suite bathroom. Just off the bedroom, a private terrace with a table and chairs provides the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening unwinding. For truly breathtaking views, head up to the rooftop terrace, where two lounge chairs await. From here, you can enjoy panoramic vistas stretching across Gozo, Comino, and Malta.
