We are delighted to host our 2026 residential weekday retreat at the beautiful Florence House, nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park and just a short walk from the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs. Surrounded by sweeping sea views, rolling chalk downs, and tranquil gardens—including a peaceful walled garden—Florence House is a sanctuary for stillness, reconnection, and inspiration.

 

Meals at the retreat are a highlight, lovingly prepared by our talented chef, Djamila. She creates nourishing, beautifully presented vegetarian dishes with plenty of vegan options, using high-quality, locally sourced, and as-organic-as-possible produce. Her food is both wholesome and sophisticated, crafted with passion and creativity. Each meal is designed to support your wellbeing, leaving you feeling satisfied, energised, and cared for. Past guests consistently rave about Djamila’s cooking, praising the balance of flavour, freshness, and artistry she brings to every plate. Dining together becomes an experience of nourishment, inspiration, and joy.

 

This retreat is designed to help you rejuvenate body and mind, reconnecting with your natural state of peace and balance. Each day will include morning vinyasa yoga, afternoon yin/restorative practice, and the option to join a massage and aromatherapy workshop.

 

In your free time, you can explore Florence House’s beautiful grounds, walk the nearby clifftops, or join a guided hike across the Seven Sisters—a dramatic and deeply calming landscape. Whether you come with friends or alone, this retreat offers the perfect space to relax, restore, and reconnect.

What You Can Expect

Yoga

This retreat is suitable for all levels. Classes are designed in a supportive environment for those who are looking to learn or return to the foundations of yoga postures, alignment, breathing, and technique. It will be a mixture of vinyasa flow, Hatha, and Yin / Restorative. The daily practice will help you to feel grounded, centred and rejuvenated.

Plant Based Meals

Freshly prepared, plant based food using quality produce prepared by an experienced chef from Devon. We can accommodate special dietary requirements, please state this at the time of booking. Day one (arrival at 4pm) includes dinner, day two includes brunch, light snacks and dinner, day three includes brunch,  (retreat closes in the afternoon).

Singling Bowl Meditation & Yoga Nidra

Deep breathing, Pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra offer significant benefits in the medical field by reducing anxiety and depression, stabilizing blood pressure, alleviating stress, and enhancing immunity. Yoga Nidra, with its unique body scan and breath awareness stages, provides deep rest and relaxation beyond conventional meditation. When combined with singing bowl meditation, it promotes profound cellular-level relaxation for improved overall health.

Connecting To The Self And Nature

There will be scheduled free time for you to simply indulge in this lush land of nature and enjoy the stunning scenery, the babbling brook running through the land, or take one of our optional guided hikes. Spending time in nature has many reported benefits, such as relieving stress, boosting the immune system, promoting sleep and relaxation, and spiritually cleansing your aura.

Accommodation

The bedrooms at Florence House are simple, light, and thoughtfully decorated, offering a calm and comfortable space to rest and restore.

In the main house, accommodation is spread across two floors with a mix of twin, double, and single rooms, some with ensuite facilities and others with shared bathrooms.

There is also a cosy cottage and a selection of garden rooms, each providing a quiet retreat with views onto the surrounding grounds.
