South Devon Retreat

16-18 August 2024

South Devon Retreat

Rebalance • Rejuvenate • Restorative

We have selected the beautiful and tranquil venue of Bala Brooke for our 2024 retreat. Nestled in its own valley on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and affectionately known as ‘Devon Heaven’, Bala Brooke is set in a heavenly location surrounded by far reaching rolling hills, a babbling brook and luscious gardens. Nature fills every inch of your vision and touches the heart with overflowing inspiration. Offering privacy and calmness, the retreat centre is set in its own grounds besides a small river, which flows freely down from the moor. There is immediate access to the surrounding countryside and rooms are simple but elegantly decorated. The retreat centre has recently been refurbished and it is run, as far as is possible, on sustainable and ecological principles. They use eco-friendly cleaning products and have a re-cycling and composting scheme and the heating at the Shraddha uses a ground and air source heat pump.

The purpose of this retreat is to rejuvenate and rebalance the body and mind from the busy modern lifestyle. These busy patterns disconnect us from experiencing our essential nature, which is inner peace and happiness. We have selected this special venue for you to channel your energy towards rebalancing and relaxation. It's space which helps take you away from your daily commitments and immerses you into a conscious, mindful state, allowing you to feel your balanced self once more.

The retreat will comprise of morning vinyasa flow and afternoon yin/restorative yoga sessions, as well as an optional one hour aromatherapy and massage workshop. Meals will be provided by a locally based catering company who specialise in retreats. All meals will be vegetarian or vegan friendly and freshly prepared using quality produce.

There will be free time for you to explore the stunning grounds, with its lush gardens and nature. Take the short walk down to the moorland brook with its clear fresh running waters, join our guided hike or simply enjoy the stunning landscape which surrounds the centre. The land at Bala Brook is beautiful and sacred. It is an ancient landscape which has a profound healing quality felt by everyone who spends time at the retreat centre. This Devon retreat is designed to allow you to fully relax with friends or partners, or simply take the time to be by yourself.
